Ask Why Your Company Didn’t Get the Job
Creating quotes can be a very time-consuming process. How long does it take you to prepare a quote? Tracking all your project/job quotes is a good practice for a couple of reasons.
A. To determine what your win percent is: If you are winning a very high percentage of your quotes, perhaps your price is too low? If you never win a quote from a prospect, perhaps they have been asked to get three quotes but already have determined the winner, and it will not be you.
Knowing this, you can decline an offer to quote for that prospect.
B. Follow up to find out why you did not win an RFP (Request for Proposal) or RFQ (Request for Quote.) The reason may not solely be price.
